As Senior Graphic Designer, you will concept, design and execute innovative and strategic, brand-centric solutions including branding, identity, packaging, marketing collateral, trade show environments, POS and beyond. You will be very hands on, ready to roll up your sleeves and get involved in everything from conceptualizing, designing and producing a broad range of print and digital collateral. You will be working with the Creative Manager, as well as other designers and team members, to ensure that your vision and concepts help increase our brands’ credibility, influence, and brand equity in the marketplace
The right candidate will be passionate about design, have a solid grasp of marketing and branding programs and possess an incredible eye for detail. Your portfolio demonstrates a strong understanding of typography, grid design and layout skills.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Help set the creative voice for Mountain Hardwear and Montrail, utilizing the established Mountain Hardwear and Montrail brand standards to design marketing materials which strongly communicate the brand messages.
Create various marketing collateral materials such as retail graphics, point-of-sale signs, fixture graphics, advertisements, hang tags/packaging, workbook, and seasonal campaign initiatives. Multiple items within each project must be created using one design template. This work requires graphic design skills and/or layout and production skills. Some projects will require supervision of printing (press check, approving proofs, etc.).
Contribute to the generation of creative concepts – both hands-on and through collaborations with the Retail Marketing Manager, Product Marketing Manager and Creative Manager.
Work effectively with the marketing team to develop design solutions that clearly meet given briefs and/or company objectives – as well as timelines, budgets and vendor management.
Manages multiple projects and prioritize work with project management tools to meet all deadlines
Provide design-mentorship to junior designers by exposing them to new challenges, decisions, and meetings
Stay abreast of current design trends and technologies and continually share this knowledge
Effectively communicate in written and verbal form
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision in a team setting
